Data and privacy
PromptsVault collects only what is needed to run the product. Your prompts are private by default and never used to train AI models.
What is stored
- Account data: email, name, profile fields you fill in.
- Prompts and folders: title, content, type, tags, notes, version snapshots.
- Subscription data: plan and status (synced from Stripe). Card details stay on Stripe servers.
- Usage events: anonymous counts of copies, views, and favorites for the analytics dashboard.
What is not stored
- Your card details. Stripe handles those end to end.
- Server-side logs of your prompt content.
- Analytics that identify you personally.
How analytics work
PromptsVault uses PostHog for product analytics with a privacy-first config:
- 10% session sampling.
- Anonymous sessions only.
- Tracking stops the moment you sign in.
- Autocapture is disabled, so no random clicks or form values are collected.
If you set the Do Not Track flag in your browser, analytics is skipped entirely.
Cookies
PromptsVault sets a small number of functional cookies for the session and a one-time banner-dismissal flag. The Privacy policy lists the full set.
Export your data
The Stripe customer portal gives you invoices. For prompt content, email support@promptsvault.app and we will send a JSON export of your account.
Delete your account
Email support@promptsvault.app from the account address. Deletion removes:
- Your profile.
- All your private prompts and folders.
- Your favorites and analytics events.
Prompts you authored that are sitting in shared folders remain with the folder owner (the folder owner already had read access). Pack prompts are not affected because you do not own them; access just falls away with your account.
